We were lucky enough to go to Tahoe twice in the past few weeks. The first time was with the whole Elson family to celebrate Josh and Aaron's birthdays. And the second trip was a weekend away for me and Josh.
I'll start with the weekend away. There wasn't much to it: relaxing, eating, more relaxing and more eating.
It was so wonderful to only have to pack 1 bag (no playpen, stroller, booster seat, bottles, diapers, etc.). We went to see the movie Captain America in South Lake Tahoe. Stayed up late taking pictures of the stars. Drove around the lake. Enjoyed a Chamber's Punch. The kids stayed with the grandparents (one kid per house) while we were gone. Thank you Gigi, Papi, Mimi and Grandpa!

Josh's birthday adventure started Thursday at Shi Ra Soni for dinner. Gotta love a place that keeps the kids entertained while waiting for food. Not to mention being delicious. And of course, we had to hit up Baskin Robbins afterward.
Friday evening, we took off for Tahoe. The whole family trickled in between Friday night and Saturday morning. We brought bicycles and a trailer with us and enjoyed a few bike rides during the weekend. Baker went to the beach with Linda. And we went to the pool for a cool down too.
On Saturday afternoon we headed to Squaw Valley where Baker surprised us all when she wanted to do this. (Of course, it helped that her 2nd cousin Trevor had done the same a few weeks prior.)
Jim and Linda made an amazing birthday dinner for the boys.
Face-painting was one of the highlights of the weekend.
Josh and Aaron shared a birthday angelfood cake made by Linda - deelish!

More facepainting ...
And two tuckered out kids (and parents!) on the way home
