That said, tonight all of the above occurred at dinner.

A small preface, she's slowly dropping her afternoon nap. Today was one of the non-napping days. (Baker stays awake in her crib for over 2 hours - very content to talk to herself (guess she's got alot on her mind)).
Josh and I decided to go out for dinner tonight. While driving to the restaurant Baker started whining and crying in the backseat. I turned around to look at her and her eyelids were SO heavy. We momentarily debated turning around and eating at home instead, but ended up heading to the restaurant because "she'll regain her energy when we get there." That wasn't so much the case.
After we were seated Baker kept leaning her sleepy head on Josh's shoulder. I asked if she wanted to lay down on the seat next to daddy, and she said yes. Little girl ended up falling asleep with her head on Josh's leg for the entire meal. She didn't eat a single bite! This was so out-of-character for her ... Josh said he was nervous she was going to stop breathing.

She finally woke up in a very groggy state. We drove home and tried to get her to eat some dinner. But she was so out of it she didn't eat anything and hardly drank her evening milk.
I'm hoping tonight's dinner-time siesta won't give her enough energy to skip tomorrow's afternoon nap, too.

Kaitlyn is the EXACT same way. It's probably a babywise thing. When she was sick with a cold she would fall asleep on my shoulder, otherwise crib only.
How adorable! Isn't it so funny how when they sleep out of character we check to make sure they're breathing! Even though they're 2 and way past the SIDS thing, it still crosses our minds! It makes me feel better that you guys do too!
