Poor Baker went to the emergency room on Sunday night. It was croup. She has battled with croup about once a year since 1 year old. We had never taken her to the ER till now. She woke up with a horrible sounding barky cough at 930pm. Her breathing was very difficult. After trying to relieve the continuous coughing with steam and also cool night air I ended up calling our neighbor/friend/EMT to give his opinion on whether we should go to the hospital. He came over and checked her out and encouraged us to take her in. Josh loaded her up and the little darlin' started feeling better even in the hospital parking lot. They went inside where she got X-rays, cool mist breathing treatment and steroid medicine. She has been doing well since then. No more medicine needed. We're hoping that croup will stop knocking at our door soon. (It's supposed to stop occurring as kids grow bigger and their airways are larger).
Caleb doesn't have any ER stories like Baker. But he does have a lot to say. Everything he says is such a joke (Caleb, what's your name? "Two." And as I point to a picture of a school bus and ask him what it is he says "Airplane".) He gets in trouble very frequently lately (climbing on things, running away, and lots more), but Caleb always wants to love and hug us afterward. He's slowly dropping his afternoon nap, which brings much heartache ad headache to mommy. When Caleb doesn't nap he usually ends up falling asleep over dinner. Tonight he started to konk out while watching tv - in the picture below. I sent him to his room to lay down and he fell right asleep.
