Way to stick to your guns!

Usually, our kids aren't this accommodating... At bedtime tonight, Caleb really wanted to go up on Baker's bunk:

Caleb: Baker, can I come up into your bunkbed, because I really like you.

Baker: ummm, no.

Caleb: but I really want to

Baker: ok, I guess so

Maybe it was because he sweet talked her?  I know this gets Amy and me nowhere with the kids… Although, Amy has learned to bring out the sweetums!  If one of the kids is in a bad mood, she nuzzles them with sweet kisses and neck snuggles.  It's seems to be a very effective neutralizer!

I love to see our kids peacefully playing, or watching a video together.  

Not another one!!!

Today Baker lost her fourth tooth.  Her bottom middle left tooth.  While playing at the mettlers house.

Baker just LOVES Eli!  She gives him so much attention, and he loves it!  

All I want for Christmas is...

If you would ask Baker, she just wants to LOSE her teeth.  She thinks it's the coolest thing in the world to have a loose tooth.  She loves to wiggle it and tease daddy that it's about to fall out.  (It makes me a little queasy!)

So today, imagine how excited she was to loose her third tooth!  Her top front middle right tooth.

Queasy stomachs need not apply

We had a lovely conversation over dinner tonight…

Baker said:  I think next I'll discover what fish eyes feel like.

Josh: What a fun dinner conversation.

Baker: Is it making you hungry?

Josh: It's making me sick.

For some reason, our kids LOVE eyeballs.  They love to say "stinky eyeballs" at random times.  It completely cracks them up.  Now, Baker wants to feel eyeballs… what's a parent to do?

For those that are wondering, our dinner consisted of homemade pizza and bread sticks… Yummy!

Jellyfish, Jellyfish, Jellyfish...

Kids say the darndest things!

We love talking to our kids.  They are so curious, and know so much more than I would ever guess they know.  Today,Caleb asked: 

Caleb: Can you get me the things with the stinging legs to play in the water? (jellyfish swim toys)

Amy: you mean the jelly fish? Can you say jellyfish?

Caleb: I can say "jellyfish" all the time. Jellyfish, jellyfish, jellyfish …

(There has been a lot of random talk about Jellyfish since the trip we took with Baker to the Monterey Bay Aquarium back in Feb.)

Do you need to go?

Caleb is learning quickly what potty training is all about…

After we got him ready for bed and we were tucking him in, he asked:

Caleb: Do I have a diaper on?

Josh: Yes you do

C: Then it's ok if I go peepee?

J: Yes, but do you want to go to the bathroom?

C: No

So I was left wondering, did he not want to get up and walk into the bathroom, or did he just not need to go peepee?  

I guess we'll never know!

Here goes nothing!

With Caleb, we didn't try the one-day potty training.  We learned our lesson with Baker, and quite honestly, we wanted to keep him in diapers as long as possible.  With his compromised immune system, the last thing we wanted to do was pull into a fast food restaurant to use their dingy restroom for an emergency.  So by the time we started potty-training Caleb, he was good and ready.  We carried a potty chair in the car with us, just in case it was needed.  With Amy's new minivan, we even had room inside the cab to set it up, if needed.  Today was one of those days.  As we pulled through the Carl's Jr. drive through, Caleb decided he needed to go.  So, out came the potty chair and as Amy sets it up, Caleb says: "I hope this works"

Isn't his rash guard the cutest!  We had come straight from the kids swim lessons.
